LOCATION
This apartment has the best location in Albir overlooking the beach in the beautiful Costa Blanca on the South East Coast of Spain.
(If you are searching for Albir it is officially known as L'Albir and is part of L'Afaz)
Albir Playa is mainly a pebble beach with amazing Mountain Views and views of Calpe Rock in the distance. It is an absolutely stunning location.
The sea is great, the water is warm at this time of year and it's a nice place to play and swim.
There are boats and kids boats with slides to hire if you fancy that.
The apartment is surrounded by Nice Bars, Cafes and Restaurants.
There is no need for a car as everything is within a few minutes walk.
If you have been to Albir before then I don't really need to explain much as I guess you already love it. But for those who haven't been, it genuinely is a beautiful small seaside village surrounded by mountains with amazing views in almost every direction.
APARTMENT
First of all this is our apartment which we live in most of the year so it's not exactly like a normal holiday apartment. It has not been fully modernised like a lot of "Holiday" apartments so for example the kitchen and bathrooms are.... early 90's style?
But this apartment isn't about checking out the kitchen and bathrooms, it's about going onto the balcony to check out the amazing views. It's about the location, just step out of the building and you're less than a minute walk onto the beach. Within a couple of minutes walk you literally have dozens of restaurants and bars to choose from.
The furniture is modern, so the living area, dining area and balcony are nice and relaxing.
There is no TV! We don't have time to watch TV so have never bothered getting one. To be honest if you stay here for a week you won't find time to watch TV, you'll be too busy on the beach, eating out at nice restaurants or just chilling out on the balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine or a nice cold beer.
Just in case you do need access to the outside world then we have high speed internet so you can watch TV or catch up on some work if you like - on your phones or iPads and laptops.
BEDROOMS
There are 2 Bedrooms Available.
BEDROOM 1
The first bedroom has a Double Bed and a wardrobe with drawers. There is a window which has views over to the sea and beach.
BEDROOM 2
The second bedroom has a sofa bed for two people. There is a wardrobe with drawers. This room has floor to ceiling windows with amazing sea and mountain views.
Also there is a desk suitable for working with a laptop... but the views might distract you from doing much work!
This room also has an ensuite bathroom.
BATHROOMS
There are 3 Bath / Shower Rooms.
BATHROOM 1
This is a separate bathroom next to BEDROOM 1. It has a bath / shower, toilet and sink.
BATHROOM 2
This is the Ensuite bathroom mentioned above linked to BEDROOM 2. It has a bath / shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
SHOWER ROOM
There is a small Shower Room. This is great for the kids, it has a Stand up shower, toilet and sink.
KITCHEN
For Spain the kitchen is actually not that small - however it might seem pretty small compared to your kitchen at home! It's fine, it's got everything you need including a view of the beach, Altea and the mountains... when you're washing the dishes.
(There's also a utility room with a washing machine just in case you need to wash any clothes).
LIVING AREA
You can see the sea and mountains from almost every window in the apartment, it really is a stunning location. I've stayed at lots of places all over the world and so far I'm struggling to beat this view.
The main living area is open plan and has an L-shaped sofa with beach and sea and mountain views.
In the same open plan area is a Large circular dining table which is very comfortable for four people but can take 6.
In addition to the dining table there is a good sized solid table suitable for working with a laptop if you need to spend a bit of time catching up with any work or business whilst you are away.
BALCONY
This is the best bit!
The balcony has fully glazed sliding windows which you can open to have an almost uninterrupted view of the beach, sea, Altea village and port, mountains and the town of Calpe in the distance with it's amazing rock sticking out of the sea towering over the town. It is really spectacular.
Every time you look out at the view you will notice something you haven't seen before.
Also if you get up early enough you will get to see the amazing sun rises as the apartment is facing directly eastwards. So the apartment never gets boiling hot from the sun during the day as it passes overhead. But if you want a sun tan on the balcony - then mid morning is your best bet!
The balcony has a sofa which can easily fit 3 people and there are 2 chairs. If you need more you can move dining chairs in there... or just stand and gaze at the awesome view.
PLANTS!
Yes we have a few plants - so depending on how many days you stay we might need to pop in to check them and water them as they are using a lot of water at this time of year.
TRANSPORT
We can collect you and take you back to the airport FREE (Max 4 Persons).
Garage Space Available if you do rent a car.
Albir itself is situated North of Alicante, about 60km from Alicante Airport. It takes around 50 minutes by car.
You can book holiday buses which can take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours depending on when they leave the airport (you might have to wait over 30 minutes), also depends how many stops they do on the way to Albir.
Like I said we can collect you if you like. We have a good sized family Estate Car so it would be 3 people in the back and 1 in the front just like a normal taxi. We also have a couple of Child seats if needed but the Mum or Dad would have to squash in the middle!
If you do need to hire a car then there are lots of car rental options at the airport. We have a garage space underground so you can park there if you like. (Parking in Albir in Summer can be difficult).
BARS / RESTAURANTS
I don't know the exact number but there must be 100 bars and restaurants in Albir - so lot's of choice. There's at least 10 to choose within 2 minutes walk from the front door of the apartment.
NOISE AT NIGHT
This isn't a crazy place like Benidorm so noise levels aren't too bad. The sea smashing against the beach is probably the loudest noise at night! There are restaurants below so you do get the chitter chatter but it's never loud and rowdy like typical holiday places. Albir is a "nice respectable" place.
AVAILABILITY
We have only just decided to make our apartment available so if you are looking for a last minute opportunity in one of the best locations in Spain with the best views then get in touch as soon as possible to secure a slot.
At this stage it is only available between now and September so don't delay as there is hardly anything else available in Albir. The nearest thing to this is Hotel Kaktus just down the street and that's over 4000€ per week for 2 small rooms for 2 Adults and 2 Children.
